Haha! It is the day of reckoning for me. all those pictures with no makeup that I have been taking.
When we put them all together, let's see how they look.

My Hair | Lopsided Pineapple Bun to Church?

By now, y'all must have figured out that I love playing with my hair. One minute I have no time for it and the very next, I use it to create some kinda amazeballs stuff.

Usually, my hair is in single plaits OR a bun. On this sunday, I did a bun.....but a lopsided one.

(1923|Guest|Post) Stylish & Fashionable Pre-Season Basics for 2014

If the idea of pre-collections seem a little puzzling to you, it’s time to get acquainted, because while they may not provide the biggest sartorial hits of the season, what they do serve up are endless style staples that’ll transcend seasons.
J. Hud is gorgeous in this LBD right? LBDs never go out of style.

Think of this as a pre-cursor to the new season - an appetiser that whets your sartorial appetite before the main course arrives, if you will. Pre-collections bridge the tricky gap between the end of one season and the beginning of another, when it’s not quite warm enough for your summer wardrobe, but not yet cool enough for your autumn wear, either; they provide the perfect transitional pieces that’ll carry you through the switch-over with ease.

This, of course, makes these pieces less season-specific, too, which is key to a savvy investment: unlike main collections, where it can be easy to pinpoint exactly what season a particular piece came from (and therefore easy to date), these have an anonymous, wear-forever quality that transcends time. Need another reason? Pre-collections are cheaper than their main ready-to-wear counterparts, too.

Inspire | 12 Ways to Live a Full Life by Shannon Ables

One of my favourite blogs to follow and read for life, work, fashion and even food 'inspiration (inspiration being the operative word here) is "The Simply Luxurious Life".

On one of my regular rounds, I came across this post. I have been in a bit of a rut recently, relying mainly on God and work for support (don't get me wrong, I love my family but I AM a loner most of the time hardly ever sharing whatever it is I might be going through). I came across this post on Shannon's blog and it seemed so selfish not to share, in view of my recent loss, this is apt.

FOTD | Work Day Blues

Hello lovelies,
I've been on a bit of a hiatus from makeup. Mainly because I never knew when I was going to burst into tears. I am trying to come out of it and move on but if you read this post, then you know why I'm  on the verge of bursting into tears and also, why I seem to have been avoiding facebook.

Nwayz, I have a makeup post today and I am very happy about it. Seriously, I started this blog with makeup, lol. Don't get me wrong, I love my natural hair but makeup will always be a first love for me.
On to the look for today. Basically a typical work day look using blue eyeshadow from the Sleek Makeup iDivine palette. I was having a menswear week - sweaters, pants, even shoes; paired with minimal accessories, natural hair and makeup (of course)
went a little off and used blue

1923 Makeover | It's Salewa from Tinsel

It is kinda hard seperating actors from the roles they play in movies especially when those roles are kinda the reason why we know them (does that make any sense?).
Tomi Odunsi aka Tinsel Salewa, is one young lady who has an entirely different persona from her TV life and is on the journey to breaking through the 'Salewa' cocoon.

My Hair | Tuck & Roll Updo

While I have been on a no-makeup spree, I have tried to be a bit more adventurous with my hair. This is especially with the lovely twistout I got from loosing the twists Kemi Lewis did for me.
It is common knowledge that the best way to get gorgeous updos with natural hair is most times when it is stretched or in a braidout/twistout. For me though, it is easier to maneuver as there are less strays and the hair is less bulky.

After the first couple of days, packing up the twistout in various ways, I decided to attempt a tuck n roll. Now we all know how it is but I think I did good.

Salon Review | KL's Natural Beauty Bar

Finally, my review of a natural hair salon at last. I am not promising that this will be regular cos I do like doing my hair myself, besides I really can be a cheapskate sometimes (a lot of the time more like right? lol)
Nwayz, here it is - KL's Natural Beauty Bar owned by Kemi Lewis. I met her at SMW2014, well not met exactly cos we didn't say a word to each other. Discovered her on Instagram again and her name stuck.
yup, that's me getting my hair done *grin*

Celebrating Underscore, that bloody copywriter

I started typing this the day after I heard. I was lying down to sleep and didn't even know when I opened the blogger app on my phone and began to type. The next day in broad daylight I held back from completing this post. I now believe however, that it will be a great disservice to his memory not to speak about him here on my blog. He loved it here. Never understood why I spent so much of my time on it and even one day teased me about being invited to a TED Talk to speak about makeup, lol (it coming true will be the greatest tribute to him I can ever give)
if Debola could've stuffed his bag with croissants, he would have.

My Hair: Does Natural Hair need a trim?

A couple of months ago I posted this image and caption on Instagram/Facebook and got asked a lot of questions about why I would trim my hair, does it need trimming etc.
Trimmed & moisturised. I always end up with a damp hairstyle on the first day. Hopefully, I'll get a proper braidout from this tomorrow.

My Hair: Recent Styling et al.

My natural hair has been the topic of so much recent conversation that sometimes even I am in awe of the darned thing. I have learned though to respect it. One thing that keeps me going where my natural hair is concerned is the fact that I have been blessed with it by God. Genes, or whatever, it is a blessing and not a curse and so I treat it as such.

I play around with it more often now and have more fun with it now which is quite refreshing I must admit. While we are on the subject, does anyone know what I can do to get it to itch less? I hear mint products work wonders.

Foundation Please

It’s a beautiful day and the sun is shining, for the first time in a long time I’m awake early and in time to be the first at the office even after applying my makeup. So I take the time to apply my makeup – from foundation to blush and lip-gloss.

Goodbye 32, Hello 5! The Basic Makeup Brushes you Need

Returning back to BellaNaija as a Guest Beauty Contributor, one of the challenges I faced was What to write. As shocking as that may seem, the question plagued me for a while before I sent a mail to the Beauty Editor with the perfect return post. The idea? Go back to the very beginning

There are many aspects to getting your makeup routine ready – and one of those very important aspects is getting the right must-have brushes. Now I know your mind is probably wandering to the 24 brush set you see makeup artists strap to their waist. Do not be afraid.Your everyday routine might not need that many brushes.

Inspire | 5 Ways to Do Nothing and Become More Productive

I was surfing the internet a couple of days ago when I came across this article from My first reaction was "How can anyone do anything productive when they aren't doing anything?". Being a typical 'non-Nigerian, lol, I clicked on the article. It was posted by James Altucher (google him) in March of this year but is relevant all year(s) round.

Photoshoot | Natural Hair with Black Child Photography

I love photoshoots but not when I am the model. I can spend all day doing the model up and making her look pretty but when I have to be the model, it usually not at my 100% best. Well, Dipo makes me be the model every once in a while. First time was pretty impromptu but turned out to be my internet persona image (everyone says the picture looks prettier than the actual me *rolls eyes*)

Dipo actually has this Natural Hair project going on and I was included in it (without first seeking my consent as you can imagine), I was summoned to the studio and we ended up doing a whole bunch of things in addition to the natural hair. Here is a picture of one of the other stuff we got round to doing.
