Nails | A Random Mani with L.A. Girl Disco Brites & NYX Advanced Salon Formula in Black

10.9.14

It wasn't until I graduated and went for my Youth Service program in Bauch state that I was 'legally' approved by my parents to start experimenting with makeup, nail polish and the rest of them. Prior to that my greatest fascination had always been with nails. I loved long nails, never mind mine were kinda stubby and didn't quite grow pretty. I would grow them until they mistakenly scratched my mom and then I had to cut them cos she had found me out.

So that's a little story about my foray into the world of nails. Not until recently though (especially because of dear Ezinne of www.beautyinlagos.com who has the most gorgeous nails ever) did I decide to start experimenting with my nails and the different colours, finishes and brands I have purchased over the years. Here is a random design I did recently.
I was in my hotel room and desperately wanted to try out something gorgeous on my nails but I had none of the tools needed. No dotters, no strips, no glitter, nothing really. So after painting my nails with the L.A. Girl Disco Brites nail polish in Disco Ball, I randomly applied the NYX Advanced Salon formula polish in Black to the tips of my nails.

Not only did this immediately make my nails look longer, I knew there was no way I was going to take it down without at least a picture which I could share with you all.
I love my L.A. Girl Disco Brites collection (I have about 7 colours from that collection). They have different levels of pigmentation and I must confess that Disco Ball is one of those with terrible pigmentation. I had to apply 4 layers to get my nails semi opaque. I gave up after that
my nails with Disco Ball. The several layers also means that the polish doesn't apply smooth but is rather tacky.
The NYX Black polish on the other hand is insanely pigmented all I needed was a dip for all the nail tips of one hand. I had fun with this and look forward to other random mani experiments in the future.
